MINI MOVEMENT (30 minutes) for ages 3 and 4

Mini Movement is an introduction to basic dance skills through fun an innovative ways meant to instill a love for dance while expanding the child’s creative approach to movement. Basic coordination and gross motor skills are improved while exploring tempo, level and shape while using special props and activities. Ballet etiquette and basics are introduced as we build a foundation for future learning.

CREATIVE DANCE (45 minutes) for ages 4 and 5

Creative Dance is an introduction to movement and musical skills through basic ballet, exploratory and creative movement. Props such as scarves, tambourines, hats and elastics are used to develop coordination and explore the wonders of movement. Independent thinking, gross motor skills, and creative expression are focuses of the class. Class lengths and exercises are designed specifically for the behavioral development and attention span of 4/5 year olds.

KINDERCOMBO (60 minutes) for Kindergarten Age

Kindercombo is the child’s first introduction to traditional dance through a combination class of basic ballet and either jazz, hip-hop or tap. Percussion is used to teach rhythm and musical awareness. Etiquette, posture and grace are accented, while keeping dance a fun and creative experience. Specifically designed for children entering kindergarten. This class evolves with the child’s educational development, teaching how to be expressive through artistic means.

DANCE COMBO (60 minutes) for 1st and 2nd Graders

In Dance Combo, various combinations of dance are taught to give students a well-rounded base and a chance to explore dance forms. The coordination and attention of school age children allows for a more concentrated class and the dance technique and basic theory. The combo class attempts to balance structure dance training with creative concepts so the class is fun while also being educational. The combo class creates the best foundation for learning for 1st and 2nd graders. It is highly recommended as a base for future study.

BALLET (50 minutes) for ages 8 and older

Ballet is the basic foundation of all dance forms. It teaches proper placement, carriage, grace and poise. Barre exercises develop strength and flexibility, while center work allows the student to practice classic dance principles. Ballet is highly recommended as a compliment to other classes because terminology and placement in Ballet quickens advancement in other classes.

JAZZ/HIP HOP (50 minutes) for ages 8 and older

Jazz dance is an American dance form which evolves and changes with the latest popular styles. Hip Hop is the latest in popular street and video moves, put into combinations that are fun and exciting! Students work on placement and technique while learning modern funky and contemporary jazz styles. The class consists of a warm-up, floor progressions and combinations.

TAP (50 minutes) for ages 8 and older

Tap class combines dance with rhythmic foot patterns. Students learn coordination of feet and musical rhythm in a way that is both challenging and fun.

ACRO (50 minutes) for ages 6 and older

Tumbling is the floor section of gymnastics. Mats are used to teach students safe techniques for rolls, handstands, walkovers, handsprings and other tricks. Studying tumbling in a dance environment assures students have equal ability on both sides, and the focus is on beautiful technique. A great compliment to any dance form.

ALL ABOUT BOYS (60 minutes) for boys only

Boys will learn the latest hip-hop and street dance moves. Dance is a great addition to sports helping with coordination, balance and flexibility.
